Setting Conditions for Anorexia nervosa Scale (SCANS): A questionnaire that uses a five-point, Likert-type rating scale, and comprises five scales-dissatisfaction and loss of control (D), social and personal anxiety (S), perfectionism (P), adolescent problems (A) and need for weight control (WC). It was designed to identify those at risk for developing anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. There is a pencil and paper version and a computerized version. It is a quick and easy to administer assessment that can be used with younger adolescents. It takes about 10 minutes to administer and 10 minutes to score. It can be administered in a group setting.
