Age of onset

Age of onset is the age at which a disease appears.  On average, eating disorders first appear during adolescence and young adulthood, anorexia nervosa generally a few years earlier than bulimia nervosa. However, all eating disorders are increasingly diagnosed in pre-pubertal and early adolescent populations, as well as full adult and even elderly populations.
