Barrett's Esophagus

Barrett's Esophagus is a complication resulting from purging in which stomach acids (see GERD) change the cells in the lining of the esophagus. In rare cases, people with Barrett's esophagus develop esophageal adenocarcinoma, a type of cancer that is often deadly.
