Barrett's Esophagus

Barrett's Esophagus is  condition in which there is a change in the cells  lining of the esophagus. It is more common in those with gastro-esophageal reflux (see GERD) and those with purging eating disorder behaviours, as stomach acids causing irritation in the lining of the esophagus.  In rare cases, people with Barrett's esophagus develop esophageal adenocarcinoma, a type of cancer that is often deadly.
