Blind Weights/Weigh-In: Refers to a weighing procedure in which the results of scale measurement are hidden from the eating disordered patient. The goal is to take the focus off the number as well as relieve anxiety associated with weight change. Family Based treatment uses Open Weights as part of its treatment protocol, however some parents and providers feel that this is not always in the patient's best interest. See Weigh-in procedures.
