Gum disease

Gum disease: A complication of self-induced vomiting. It is caused by regurgitated stomach acids and enzymes. Other facets of an eating disorder may also cause gum disease: lack of vitamin D and calcium, hormonal imbalance and general malnutrition. Also see Dental complications.
