Hypomagnesaemia: Severe magnesium deficiency that can be caused by diarrhea, diuretic abuse, or alcohol abuse as well as severe malnutrition. Symptoms can include muscle cramps, intestinal spasms, hypokalemia, and cardiac arrhythmias. See electrolyte imbalance.
