Ideal body weight (IBW)

Ideal body weight (IBW): Derived from norms of weight for height in the patient's age group and used as one of the tools to determine an appropriate weight range for recovery. Also taken into consideration is: history of height/weight, growth charts, age, maturity, stage of sexual development.
