Pelvic ultrasound scanning

Pelvic ultrasound scanning is a noninvasive medical test that provides images of the structures and organs in the lower abdomen or pelvis.  Nutritional deficits are associated with immaturity of the hypothalamic/ pituitary/ovarian axis, and are of particular concern during female adolescent development. Images are used to guide medical management of growth and reproductive issues during eating disorders treatment. See Growth retardation.
