Weigh-in Procedures

Weight monitoring is an important component of treatment of eating disorders. The frequency of weigh-ins and procedure utilized varies based on the approach taken towards treatment, phases of treatment and level of care. Some treatment providers utilize a blind weigh-in protocol where the patient is not informed of the scale reading. Other treatment providers use an open weigh-in procedure in which the patient sees his or her weight as it is recorded.
