Antidepressants

Antidepressants are medications used to correct neurotransmitter imbalances which affect mood and emotional functioning, in the treatment of depression. There are several classes:  selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI's) which include Fluoxetine (Prozac); serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). tricyclics, tetracyclics, and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
