Serotonin

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that regulates mood, sleep, eating, arousal and pain.  Decreased serotonin is associated with bulimia nervosa, increased appetite and severe depression. Increased serotonin levels are associated with appetite suppression or anorexia nervosa. OCD has also been linked to abnormal serotonin levels. Additional information.
