Feeding Disorder of Infancy or Early Childhood is characterized by failure to eat adequately and failure to gain weight or significant weight loss over at least a one-month period. This disturbance cannot be directly related to an identified medical condition such as gastrointestinal problems and cannot be directly related to another mental health issue or be the result of unavailability of food.
