Night Eating Syndrome (NES) is a night binging disorder affecting 1.5% of the population and characterized by: lack of appetite upon wakening in the morning, extremely elevated appetite in the evening (hyperphagia) and sleeping disturbances. Sufferers can be of normal weight or overweight. There is a high co-morbidity of depression with NES.
